Privacy & confidentiality

When you work with a counsellor through Counselling Camp, you can trust that your privacy is taken seriously. This page explains in plain English how your information is handled, how your sessions are protected, and the standards every counsellor on this site is held to.

Your sessions are confidential

Everything you share in a session stays between you and your counsellor. Your counsellor will not share your personal information with third parties, employers, family members, or anyone else without your explicit consent.

There are a small number of exceptions to this — situations where a counsellor may have a professional or legal duty to act. These include serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or a legal requirement to disclose. Your counsellor will explain these limits clearly at your first session.

As part of their professional practice, all counsellors at Counselling Camp receive regular clinical supervision. This means they meet confidentially with an experienced supervisor to reflect on their work and ensure they are supporting you as effectively as possible. Their supervisor will never know your identity — only anonymised details may be discussed. Supervision is a professional requirement, not a sign that anything is wrong, and is one of the ways we ensure the quality and safety of every counsellor's practice.

How your data is handled

Counselling Camp does not collect or store your personal data. Each counsellor is an independent practitioner and is responsible for managing their own client data in line with UK GDPR. This means your information is held by your counsellor directly — not by this website.

Your counsellor will explain exactly how they store and protect your data at your first session, including your rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your information at any time.

Professional insurance

Every counsellor practising through Counselling Camp holds valid professional indemnity insurance. This is a requirement of NCPS membership and protects both you and your counsellor.

NCPS membership and ethical framework

All counsellors are members of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and practice in accordance with their ethical framework. This means you can expect:

  • A professionally trained and qualified counsellor
  • Ongoing supervision and continued professional development
  • A clear complaints procedure if you are ever dissatisfied

You can read the full NCPS ethical framework at ncps.com.

This website and cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or advertising technology. We do not profile visitors or sell data. The only information we receive through this website is what you voluntarily submit via our booking or contact forms — and that goes directly to your chosen counsellor.
