Who We Are
A collective built on care
Counselling Camp began with a simple idea: that everyone deserves access to compassionate, professional mental health support — without the barriers that so often get in the way. We are a collective of independently practising counsellors who share a commitment to that idea, and to each other.
Our Story
How we came together
Counselling Camp was founded in 2026 by a group of qualified counsellors based in Northeast England who wanted to make something different — not a clinic, not a corporation, but a community. A place where clients feel welcomed, not processed, and where counsellors can do their best work in an environment built on trust and mutual support.
"A place where clients feel welcomed, not processed."
The name reflects our ethos. A camp is a place you come to for a while, a place that feels removed from the noise of everyday life. Somewhere you can breathe, reflect, and find your footing. That is what we aim to offer every person who walks through our door — or logs on from their living room.
Every counsellor in our collective is independently qualified, NCPS registered, and committed to ongoing professional development. We collaborate, supervise one another, and hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards — because your wellbeing depends on it.
What We Stand For
Our values

Genuine warmth
We believe the relationship between client and counsellor is the foundation of everything. You will always be met with kindness, not clinical distance.

Confidentiality
What you share stays here. We follow the NCPS ethical framework and GDPR to the letter, so you can speak freely.

No pressure, ever
There is no agenda, no timetable, and no judgement. You move at your own pace, and we follow your lead.

Honest guidance
We will be straight with you. If we think a different approach or a different counsellor would serve you better, we will say so.

Accessibility
We offer in-person and online sessions to remove as many barriers to access as possible — geographical, physical, or otherwise.

Continued learning
Every one of our counsellors commits to ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice. We never stop developing.
Professional Standards
Registered & accountable
All of our counsellors are registered members of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) — one of the leading professional bodies for counsellors in the UK. NCPS membership means we are bound by a strict code of ethics, hold appropriate insurance, and engage in regular clinical supervision. You can verify any of our counsellors on the NCPS register.
